FORUT International Sri Lanka has warned of a large scale recruitment scam of youth underway in Galle using the name of the development agency in the capacity of a Chief Program Officer.
In a press notice FORUT Sri Lanka said that the youth are being recruited for a fee on the pretext that they will receive employment for a development project in the Southern Province.
“We have received complaints that these youth have been charged a fee in the pretext of offering employment in this development project which is supposedly to carry out the construction of houses, temples, libraries and toilets,” FORUT Sri Lanka said in the release.
The agency warned the public not to be misled by the scam adding that it has not appointed any individual in the capacity of a Chief Program Officer in Galle and is also not in any way responsible for any recruitment, transactions or activities carried out by any such persons on behalf of the organization.
