Ranil: 10K rise for public servants

A future UNP government would give a Rs. 10,000 salary increment to public servants and a Rs. 2000 increment for pensioners until anomalies were resolved, United National Party (UNP) National Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe said yesterday in Kotte. Speaking at a party meeting in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte yesterday, he said a future UNP government would come out with a bonanza for the people. He said a future UNP government would purchase Samba paddy at Rs. 50 a kilogramme and Nadu paddy at Rs. 45 a kilogramme.

He also said that a litre of petrol would be reduced by Rs. 50 while diesel would be reduced by Rs. 15.
