Tickets for the main IIFA awards show to be held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium tomorrow evening has been slashed to Rs.25,000 per ticket (back seats) compared to the previously highly priced Rs.200,000 to Rs. 1.15 million package, officials said.

Officials however told Daily Mirror online that separate seats will be installed at the back for the Rs.25,000 tickets.

Tickets are currently available at the Sri Lanka Tourist Board and will be sold till midnight tonight. (JN)

    Friday, 04 June 2010 12:19 PM

This is a good chance for the tourism ministry..

    Friday, 04 June 2010 04:22 PM

Who would buy tickets for this price?

    Friday, 04 June 2010 05:58 PM

I dont know how the Tourist Board expected Sri Lankans to spend such huge amounts of money for an awards ceremony, when the country is suffering with floods. Rs.25,000/-, for a 'back seat ticket,' could be spent in proving food or shelter to the victims.

    Friday, 04 June 2010 07:25 PM

I just cannot believe that anyone in SL is prepared to spend so much on a ticket. They must all be either overflowing with money or going mad?

    Friday, 04 June 2010 08:17 PM

The headline is misleading - the word 'slashed' implies that the same tickets were, previously, higher priced.

    Friday, 04 June 2010 09:15 PM

I suppose this is what this government calls "Suba Anagathayak"?
