No LLRC invitation - CBK office

Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga had not received an invitation to make a submission to the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) although the LLRC had made statements to that effect, her office said.

“The LLRC has made statements stating that Ms. Kumaratunga has been invited to make a submission to the commission. However no invitation has been extended to her from the LLRC,” an official of the former President’s office said.

LLRC Secretary, S.B Athugoda said that formal letter inviting the former President was sent to her on December 31 but that she has not responded as yet. He added that it is up to the former President to decide if she wishes to accept or deny the invitation. (OJ)
