It was a happening day for NKAR on April 1, 2015. The road to NKAR ‘Your Travel House’, Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha was gleaming with ‘35 Years of Brilliance’ hoardings catching the eye of every passer-by  and indeed the office was tastefully bubbling with green and cream coloured helium balloons to the music of  live jazz music.
The celebration commenced with the traditional lighting of the oil lamp and cutting of kiribath by the board of directors and senior management and of course gifting of a wonderful surprise hand-sketched portrait of the founder and Managing Director Nilmin Nanayakkara, as he deserves for his commitment and enthusiasm which built NKAR through three decades treading through a rough journey.
Immediately the party begun with the serving of an array of delicious cocktail snacks and wines by officially uniform clad stewards from a leading city hotel in Colombo, which was extended throughout the day to all who visited, from well wishers to customers. The music was soothing as the Jazz band was into blues and mesmerizing music. There was a guest attendance of over 300 persons, which covered airlines, hoteliers, industry friends, corporate clients and others associated with NKAR operations.
The building was decked with flowers and gifts from well-wishers who visited. The crazy party ambience did not disturb the staff from working and there was no compromise but supportive service towards all telephone calls, emails and those who walked-in.
Simultaneously a token day live radio promotion was on with MBC Networks on Legend & Yes FM creating a hype on celebrating the anniversary by running a quiz promotion to the listeners winning air tickets and weekend holiday packages in Sri Lanka. The radio promotion was so funny that most winners thought that it was an April Fool joke until the radio station called and confirmed to them.
NKAR confirms that the growth and sustainment of today is the loyalty of its esteemed clients and partners whom they value by offering service with integrity. The  future innovations in terms of technology and specialized human support scheduled in due course will add on to the path of excellence building much stronger trust on NKAR Travels & Tours (Pvt.) Limited.
