Maybe if our beloved politicians spent time helping those farmers out instead of going around the globe trying to show-off..we might be able to try that..otherwise your words are absolutely worthless

The way the Minister announced the price increase as if he/his Government was giving a Victory Day gift to the people! We know many more such gifts are in the pipeline, with the best wishes of the Government!!

Prevailing high malnutrition in SL should be addressed ASAP as it is a grave danger in future as stunted people will be not productive and not healthy. GMOA can take a break from their normaly selfserving campaign to initiate this so people can have something positive to say about doctors

Consider the big picture. Both UNP and Chandrika government sold most of the assets of the milk board to the private sector. It is time to revive it. Our sri lankans are good in importing every thing.

Foreign Exchange spent on liberalized car imports to recovered by cutting down on milk imports. Malnourishment of children is a bonus.

It is time up for the Sri Lankans think rationally and act wisely. Sri Lanka is losing lot of foreign exchange to import milk which could be easily produced in Sri Lanka. If India could do this in the last two decades, why can't the able Sri Lankans do. Please do not make Aussie, New Zea farmers rich. If Saudi Arabia, been a desert, can be self sufficient and export milk to neibouring countries, why can not our local farmers make use of the fertile Sri Lankan Soil.

We should strat to use fresh milk/ Pasteurized milk. It will improve the local economy too. Government would have relax tax/ more concession to dairy industry. Government run hospitals and schools should use fresh milk than powder. I could not see any milk powders in UK supermarkets! Our North -East lands are suitable for these industries.

well done Mahinda Chinthanaya.
Saturday, 19 June 2010 10:14 AM
ok let's think this through... maybe write an equation to understand this... [freedom + victory + cheaper_cars = rs. 48 x billion packets of milk] ... i'm sure that's not complete but u get the picture ;) :P
