From the battle field to muddy field.

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 08:37 AM

He has got people's mandate, nothing to prevent him attending. Because of him we have freedom to move from north to the south today. Not forgetting the president who gave the political backing.

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 08:47 AM

The known devil is better than the unknown devil.

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 08:48 AM

I AM SURE MR PRESIDENT WILL NOT PLACE AN OBSTACLE TO THE REQUEST AS LONG AS THE SO CALLED ADVISORS ARE DISTANCED.THE MR I KNEW WAS NEVER A DICTATORIAL CHARACTER IN THE GOOD OLD DAYS BEING A LONG STANDING POLITICIAN..

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 08:11 AM

It is good to hear that the General will attend parliament, which is his legitimate right.

Wish him good luck and be able to stand-up against injustices, corruption and uphold democrasy to bring about a audible change in the entire system and instill lost confidence.

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 10:25 AM

Brave man Kithulegoda. Most probably he might end up in jail too. General should be in parliment.

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 10:46 AM

    good news! We're coming too!

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 10:57 AM

Congratulations General ! Mr Anura kumara Dissanayaka deserves the credit.

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 12:56 PM

Of course the credit should go to Mr AKD and the JVP leadership. I am sure some people are already nervous and this is the start. Count down begins now for fall of this regime.

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 01:03 PM

all U.N.P members of Parliment should appoint General as
Opposition Leader as he is the mastermind who created the path from south to north. he is far better than Ranil

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 04:01 PM

anyhow its a good thing that Mr.Mahinda did.

    Wednesday, 21 April 2010 07:10 AM

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 07:35 AM

    Congrads, Hope Justice will prevail

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 06:43 AM

Now SF is a Peoples representative where SF is far higher than Defence Secretary. So please do not play foul games

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 06:48 AM

It was good news when the news item of HE the President was reported that SF could attend parliament. The steps taken by the SEC GEN is also appreciated. This would refresh the minds of the people that we have a way forward without petty differences.

It’s now open to all the parties to forget the events in the past and work towards the prosperity of Sri Lanka and its people.

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 06:52 AM

    Fantastic news !
There is a God Above who sees everything what is happening on this earth.

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 06:59 AM

It is nothing but fair that General is allowed to take his oath as MP>

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 07:19 AM

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 06:42 AM

Jaffna is over crowded with visitors now but sadly the man who fought and planned for the victory against LTTE to liberate the country from terrorism is behind bars. THIS IS A SOCIAL CRIME!!!!

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 07:37 AM

In fact, we are curiously waiting to see the face of world 1st class general on Thursday.

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 07:37 AM

After parliment to a Mental doctor for further advise

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 07:41 AM

dear general hope you are relaxed and comfortable on this great day our thoughts are with you sir budusaranai

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 07:45 AM

Its high time for both parties to reconcile and take Sri Lanka forward on a good path. UPFA should take this opportunity to build the country given the extension of ruling power. The share market trend implies that the investor confidance is building up. Political uncertenty means all the efforts will go down the drain.

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 08:02 AM

    At last sanity prevails.

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 08:06 AM

at least there is some transparency

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 08:07 AM

Excellent , the Acting Secretary General of Parliament is doing his job perfectly well. He has practiced democracy in the true sense, irrespective of party affiliations. Trust the elected members will follow suit.

    Tuesday, 20 April 2010 08:09 AM

General Fonseka must attend parliament. He was elected by the people and the people have the right to demand that he is a free man and attend to his duties as a MP and the leader of the DNA. There is no other choice or the people will make sure they have their say.
