Emirates announces special June fares for Colombo departures

June has suddenly become the month for travelling overseas, with Emirates announcing a series of special fares valid for travel out of Colombo during the month.

These special fares, which will be on sale for specific periods within June, offer discounts ranging from 7 percent to 38 percent, on travel to eight destinations -- Dubai, London, Singapore, Zurich, Frankfurt, Melbourne, Moscow and Jeddah.

Among the most attractive limited edition fares on offer are an Economy Class return to Dubai at an all-inclusive Rs.51,980 (a saving of 29 percent), a Business Class return to Singapore at Rs.100,003 all inclusive (a saving of 22 percent) and an Economy Class return to Zurich at Rs.100,977 (a saving of 18 percent), all valid for travel ending June 30, 2012.

The highest saving possible under this special promotion is on one-way Economy Class fares to Dubai, which at Rs.28,400 inclusive of f uel surcharge and taxes, represents a saving of 38 percent. This fare is valid for travel ending June 10, 2012.

“These are just a few examples of the savings on offer for travel out of Colombo in June,” said Devika Ellepola, Emirates Sales Manager in Sri Lanka. “It is a great time to experience Emirates’ award-winning service at very special rates.”

The winner of more than 500 prestigious international travel and aviation awards, Emirates operates 14 direct flights a week from Colombo to Dubai, seven flights via Male to Dubai and daily flights from Colombo to Singapore, offering First, Business and Economy Class services.

In 2011-12 the airline added 11 new destinations to its route network, took delivery of 22 new aircraft and flew 34 million passengers.
