The External Affairs Ministry is closely monitoring the situation regarding the Sri Lankan crew onboard the Panama flagged merchant vessel which was hijacked by Somali pirates recently and is still awaiting news about the crew’s well being, External Affairs Ministry sources told Daily Mirror online

“We are awaiting details from the Sri Lankan missions in Washington, Kenya and Egypt”, an External Affairs Ministry spokesperson said.

The vessel “MV SUEZ” was travelling in the Internationally Recommended Transit Corridor (IRTC) when it was attacked and taken over by the Somali pirates.

The MV SUEZ was a vessel with deadweight of 17, 300 tonnes and a crew of 23 (Egypt, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India Nationalities) and was transporting a cargo of cement bags. European Union Naval Force (EU NAVFOR) is also monitoring the situation. (Daily Mirror online)

Crew being screwed by the canadian authorities silently.

lets support the crew and help many more who are wanting to seek greener pastures.

Just support them, they deserve this, they have been living in hell under barbaric terrorists for decades. Although there is peace in the North now, it will take a while to develop the area. But don't talk about bilge like war crimes. That era was gone with the demise of the evil VP.
