CCD to probe Prageeth’s case

The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) has taken over the investigations from the Homagama police into the disappearance of journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda, Police spokesman S.P Jayakody told reporters this evening.

Reporters Without Borders had this week appealed to President Mahinda Rajapaksa to order the release of the results of the police investigation into Prageeth Eknaligoda's disappearance two months ago.

Eknaligoda's wife and two children have had no news of him since 24 January, when he was abducted as he left the office of the Lanka-e-News website, his place of work. (SD)
