To: Idiots, on both sides! Could you please stop these killings!

    Monday, 18 January 2010 05:01 PM

Innocent people stop this, You all can fight leave poor innocent.

    Monday, 18 January 2010 05:10 PM

More deaths may occur, and it is up to the government to call for the police to maintain law and order, and, if they are unable to do so, they must call-in the Army! No point in winning an election, over dead bodies!

    Monday, 18 January 2010 05:25 PM

    OMG! Is it war, again?

    Monday, 18 January 2010 05:56 PM

We need to put an end to this political culture, which has become uncontrollable, during this corrupt regime. This is why we need a change!

    Monday, 18 January 2010 06:36 PM

The death toll currently stands at 2, on each side! I, really, question the suitability of the current IGP! Yes we have seen "worse" elections, but these killings, on either side, are sad, especially when we are living in a post-LTTE era. Nobody deserves to die, for pasting posters, etc.!

    Monday, 18 January 2010 07:32 PM

Violence, in all forms, must be condemned! But, the government started this, to frighten and weaken the opposition. This shows that they (the opposition) too are equally prepared, for any eventualities. Like in Wayamba, the Government cannot have the cake, forcefully. So, the ruling party members must behave first!

    Monday, 18 January 2010 07:59 PM

We celebrate winning the war against terrorism, but don't realize that there is another form of terrorism, rooted within us. Why do we kill each other because of "SF" or "MR"? It is because of our narrow-mindedness. "SF" and "MR" will always shake hands, and make up, while we count the dead bodies of our friends and family. Grow up people! Stop and look at yourselves! Stop supporting the violent culture. That is the only way we can stop this.

    Monday, 18 January 2010 10:14 PM

What poor fools ... they just die for nothing! The guys at the top don't even know who they are and, in fact, are not even bothered.

    Monday, 18 January 2010 04:54 PM

if this is how SF is acting without power it's not hard to see what he's going to do if he's elected by any chance

    Tuesday, 19 January 2010 12:18 AM

Violence and killings are due to failure of the Police to do their duty. The IGP, should respond!

    Tuesday, 19 January 2010 03:58 AM

I think & propose that both leaders should speak to each other and address their respective supporters immediately to stop this unpresident uprise of violence. if not more violence will flair up and will go out of control with more innocent lives.

    Tuesday, 19 January 2010 05:20 AM

The present govt. is interfering in the affairs of Police as never before done in SL. This is the very reason that we need indipendent police comm. to run specially during an election period.

    Tuesday, 19 January 2010 05:24 AM

Violence is increasing because of Police inaction. When one side hits and the police turn a blind eye at one point of time the other side takes the law onto its own hand and hits first.
Unfortunately this is the consequence .
Lets hope that justice is done at least now as we should condone all forms of violence.

    Tuesday, 19 January 2010 06:10 AM

A sorry state. Mother Lanka is crying. What ever said and done MR and SF are two grat sons of mother lanka. Gentlemen please get your act to gather!!! One should be the President and the other one Opposition leader. May the Best Man and Decomcracy win!!!

    Tuesday, 19 January 2010 06:18 AM

I can not agree more than this , why violence ! We are back to terror age cannot walk on street or show our freedom

    Tuesday, 19 January 2010 07:45 AM

Altho govt crushed northern terror, ruling govt will never crush terror in the rest of the country. How sad.

    Tuesday, 19 January 2010 08:48 AM

results of blind patriotism. The war is over and the govt. should turn to to democracy mode and implement the constitutional laws. Executive presidency and the emergency rule must be abolished.

    Monday, 18 January 2010 04:12 PM

Agree with you. Shame at the loss of life. They need to talk to their supporters to ensure that sanity prevails. I just dread to wonder what will happen on election night and thereafter.

    Monday, 18 January 2010 02:43 PM

    Election campaign of UDPF

    Monday, 18 January 2010 02:50 PM

WHAT IS THE LAW & ORDER ENFORCEMENT DOING DURING ELECTION TIME? Are they sleeping???????
    BE ACTIVE IGP.

    Monday, 18 January 2010 03:10 PM

This is what we need to change. Thats why we need SF

    Monday, 18 January 2010 03:44 PM

    Sham to srilankan politics

    Monday, 18 January 2010 03:55 PM

This is the culture that need to be changed.

    Monday, 18 January 2010 04:01 PM

how can the man that brought this culture by the foul of his mouth change it, if his elected .. get real people.... ! ... only MR can change this nation and he has done it by finishing a war and bringing people to respect the mother nation of Sri Lanka! ...

    Monday, 18 January 2010 04:01 PM

I feel there is no other time than now that we need the implementation of the 17th amendment which was voted by all MP in parliament including the current President. Yes the outcome may not be perfect but still its a start. Only then that we will have a police force that will now bow down to political masters and enforce the laws to the letter regardless of which party the culprits belong to.

    Monday, 18 January 2010 04:05 PM

This is really not good now it is the 4th one. 2 from SF and 2 from MR. Government needs to act on this and try to find the culprits. MR and SF needs to talk to their supporters and ask them stop this

    Monday, 18 January 2010 02:40 PM

    Sf 2nd mission.

    Monday, 18 January 2010 04:16 PM

If anyone is serious about stopping violence he should implement the 17th amendment. Anyone who has the power to do so and doesnt is guilty and answerable for all the violence and politicisation of the Police force.

    Monday, 18 January 2010 04:28 PM

Where the hell is Law and Order that MR promised in the TV a while ago?? He cant control this time....Law of the Medamulana jungle

    Monday, 18 January 2010 04:29 PM

MR guys like DR MS started the rot..They should be jailed

    Monday, 18 January 2010 04:31 PM

    0where are those SF sympathysers.

    Monday, 18 January 2010 04:39 PM

mindless folk....where is the justice? can ordinary citizen safeguard hes or her dignity ? God blese this nation.

    Monday, 18 January 2010 04:41 PM

Presidential & Parliamentary Elections musl be conducted under a Care-taker government to stop these killings and all sorts of other election related violences..

    Monday, 18 January 2010 04:46 PM

People in Kurunegala area says that, this should be an act of a person who crossed over to UPFA (from UNP) and became a minister. This may be true. So we need Govt to maintain the law and order

    Monday, 18 January 2010 04:47 PM
