United States' Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said Sunday the Trump administration will announce more sanctions against Russia on Monday, the CNN reported.

On CBS's "Face the Nation," Haley has said the Treasury Department will announce the new sanctions and insisted the US has sent "a strong message" about the use of chemical weapons.

“You will see that Russian sanctions will be coming down. Secretary Mnuchin will be announcing those on Monday, if he hasn't already,” said Haley.

While insisting the action taken early Saturday morning in Syria was a very strong attack on the chemical weapons programme,  Haley hit back on more hawkish critics who argue the US didn't go far enough because it did not change the balance of power in the long-running Syrian civil war.

"Our job was never to take Assad out," Haley said, referring to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

She added that the conflict must ultimately be resolved through a UN-led political process. "Our job was never to start a war."

Putin is too much. US should consider Total Economic Embargo on Russia.

The problem will be mostly solved when USA vacates that region. Russia helps Syria to get back their country and Assad holds elections. It still wont end because of the Kurdish and Israel issues but it will bring back some peace for the people there.

If there were any chemical weapons in those buildings attacked by the West then those weapons would have exploded and the dangerous gases would have killed thousands in Syria. We are seeing the aftermath of the attacks on TV,only blown up buildings and some fire still smouldering but no traces of any chemical in the air.If some one says that the Syrians could have moved out those chemical agents prior to the attack, the fact is it is logistically very difficult to move them fast and further more these buildings would have been watched by the Americans for any such transfer taking place from their spy satellites all the time. Can we still trust the West ?

Nikki, has no international experience, a puppet of Trump, a known crook. All these bombing on Syria was solely to protect the interests of Israel, deter the Russians and Iran helping the Syrians. This is a repeat of what happened in Iraq weapons of mass destruction by Bush and company to rid Saddam Hussein. US stop telling lies to the world! The West can forget the getting rid of Assard whose family has ruled the country. He is no saint but has to keep fighting rebels who want to destroy his country.Russia and Iran support his regime for reasons best known to them.
