The discussion held between President Maithripala Sirisena and the United National Front (UNF) representatives came to an end without agreement, UNP MP Lakshman Kiriella said.

He also said the President had reiterated that UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe would not be reappointed as Prime Minister even if all 225 MPs endorsed to nominate Mr.Wickremesinghe as the Premier.

They already have 122 and need only 28 more. But the sad tragedy is MS has permanently tarnished the image of MR as a Premier who took 2 No Confidence Motion and one court order that he is no fit to be a Premier in the nation that eulogized him as the MahaRajano. This is a permanent stink on MR, and may even prevent him from becoming a Premier ever again. MS has destroyed MR with one stroke.

MS is mentally unfit. Is there a clause what to do if the leader is incapacitated or something.

    Nadeem Monday, 03 December 2018 10:14 PM

Yes. It has to be proved through a psychiatrist. Or an impeachment motion can be brought forward against the prez. With 2/3rd majority in parliament he can be gone for good

    Unchikun Monday, 03 December 2018 10:00 PM

Thanks Mr. President. You are doing a great favor to the UNP grassroots level supports . Nice

    Mandy Monday, 03 December 2018 10:24 PM

Under what authority or clause in the Constitution can he refuse to accept RW. And this is the same person who said he will never appoint MR as PM in Aug/Sept 2015. So he will set fire to the Book of Rules !!

De silva Monday, 03 December 2018 10:30 PM

The country go to back instead going to the front.

    Premsutha Monday, 03 December 2018 10:38 PM

It’s high time to impeach him, no point discussing with him, now all political parties must unilaterally decide to take immediate actions to impeachment process.

    Abzi Monday, 03 December 2018 10:46 PM

Why not put an impeachment for him..NO PRESIDENT..NO PM..NO CABINET... that's it..we can have a peaceful life..

    Gratiaen. Tuesday, 04 December 2018 02:32 PM

How can we call him "President" with his recent stupid actions which demonstrated his transformation? He is thoroughly not fitting to hold that honourable position.
