After superstar Rajinikanth called off his proposed visit to Sri Lanka after facing opposition from Tamil fringe groups, Lankan politician Namal Rajapaksa, who happens to be the son of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa, has expressed his displeasure towards the entire development.
The superstar's decision came after he met with opposition from pro-Tamil outfits in his state.
"VCK chief Thirumavalavan and MDMK chief Vaiko urged me not to visit Sri Lanka. I accepted their request because of cordial relationship," he said.
He was scheduled to formally present keys to 150 homes built by Gnanam Foundation for the internally displaced Tamils in the island nation.
However, the visit was opposed by the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and Marumarlarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMDK). Gnanam Foundation has been focusing on re-building infrastructure in the key areas of Sri Lanka which were badly affected in the civil war that took place around three decades ago. (ANI)

Namal why worry as long as you and your father are there to help the sri lanka's tamil people as you have been helping them since you all came to power.

upali Monday, 27 March 2017 11:03 AM
why, true nature of Srilankan politicians not revealed yet?
Satheesh Monday, 27 March 2017 11:06 AM
Very true. These toxic Tamil Nadu politicians survive by creating chaos and pushing other people’s buttons. Either way, they create unnecessary complexity.BY the way what you and your father have done when were in power?

Why on earth does the media give coverage to such unscrupulous persons? No need to list all the skulduggery resorted to by him and still in the parliament and smiling away. In the past banishing such persons from the country was a practice, then came abolishing civil rights, I wonder what would be appropriate for such politicians. If not pegged at the right time one does not need much brain power to imagine what the country is in for.

In any country you get radicals. Srilankan tamils are defineatly hurt because the opportunity they had of seeing Rajini is ruined by the so called radical politicians of Tamil Nadu.
