I think it should be raised by 25-50%. A and should be revised in each three years time

I am a regular commuter and don't mind increasing by 50% and also please add couple of more carriages for the morning and evening office trains. Comparing to buses, this mod of travel is the best.

Frankly i would not mind a price hike as long as they provide value for money. Train delays, unclean and damaged compartments and most of all the downright rude staff of the railway department does not justify what they are charging the commuter.

I welcome it. It should be ideally 50% increase. Don't subsidize transport with Indirect taxes on daily essentials. There are many just wasting the railway services on the expense of poor people. We should also bring a rule to charge additional fares for Tourists. Nowadays trains are full of tourists (Chinese) who are benefiting from our poor peoples.

Regular TravellerThe increase in fares has been over due. But all of a sudden the sudden decision is taken to balance the loss that was incurred in the range of Rs.70 million or above due to the strikes involved in the recent past. What action is being taken to recompense these loss from the politically backed trade unions? Can anybody answer this very important issue? Over to you - Minister and the GMR!

How come there is loss when trains do not run .It should be a profit .when trains runs the loss runs in to Billions per year.

Train fair must be increased until the train service is cost effective, it must not run at a loss.
