A train travelling from Kalutara South to Colombo got two of its compartments detached at the Moratuwa Railway Station this morning, the Railway Control Room said. The train had later left for Colombo after attaching the compartments.

This is a serious accident but not new to Sri Lanka. About 25 years ago, I was on a train Anuradhapura when this happened.

These are pretty old Rumanian built carriages brought brand new in the 1970's during Mrs. Bandaranayaka's regime. CGR in par with other cities has not improved a single bit and is a shame and a pest to mother Lanka.
