Promising athlete Tharindu Dasun from the Galle District established the first meet record on the second day of the 30th National Youth Games which continued at the Kotawila Stadium in Matara yesterday (26).
Dasun produced a splendid performance of 2.123 metres in the Boys’ Under-20 High Jump final to erase the previous mark of 2.11 metres set by R. A. T. O. Karunaratne from Urban Youth.
Meanwhile, Kalutara District clinched the netball title while overcoming Kandy District in the final encounter.
In addition, Kegalle District defeated Monaragala District in the Men’s Netball Tournament final.
