Speaker Karu Jayasuriya today informed President Maithripala Sirisena that he would not attend the all-party conference scheduled for this evening at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.
A spokesman at the Speaker's Office said the Speaker would not attend the discussions on the basis that it would be among political party representatives.

All these dramas and meetings are for the purpose of giving time to MR to buy some more MPs. This meeting is only a "benefit show" nothing else. MR and MS are our Local heroes.

Speaker and JVP has made a wise decision. When Parliament is not safe for MPs one cannot take a chance, as anything can happen anywhere.
