Looking at the protesters it seems obvious as to who is responsible for majority of the traffic offences. But in fact it is their lives that will be safeguarded as a result of heavy fines. I hope the government has the spine to keep this and make the roads a safer place.

increase the traffic fines at least they will learn the hard way. indiscipline set of people.

    Yehiya Wednesday, 23 August 2017 09:07 AM

    Everything politicized.

    Pedestrian Wednesday, 23 August 2017 09:13 AM

Honda wede! Dada kala hari, pare yanna egana ganne!!!

    DN Tuesday, 22 August 2017 04:30 PM

If they are really for a change, should support for disciplined Lanka.

Nina Kamal Tuesday, 22 August 2017 04:36 PM

Yes, we need these fines to be imposed for the safety of our lives and for a disciplined future generation!!!

    MP Tuesday, 22 August 2017 05:21 PM

Fines on violation of road rules is a must. Fines should be increased. If we don't violate road rules, there is no necessity to be against increases,

Citizen Perera Tuesday, 22 August 2017 05:31 PM

This is the only country in the world where this kind of protests are carried out.( Do they want to kill more people on the road?)

    Sincere Tuesday, 22 August 2017 05:40 PM

They are asking the right to kill and destroy on roads as they wish. A government with a backbone cannot bow down to these demands.

Safety Roads Tuesday, 22 August 2017 05:41 PM

This is not the demand of the general public of this country

    joshua Tuesday, 22 August 2017 06:27 PM

the fines should stay. Go to hell with the protestors

    lion Wednesday, 23 August 2017 05:11 AM

Arrest these men, what is this comedy of allowing to disturb public life

    dulan Wednesday, 23 August 2017 08:21 AM

Y for Change is definitely a JO/MR funded organization . Surely is not obvious that 90% of the protests inc SAITAM is funded by MR' s money

    Gufran Wednesday, 23 August 2017 08:38 AM

No point of taking a stand which is not worth while,This protest is of no use, if we are sure of not breaking a law, there is no need of a heavy fine. While Taking a license, we are thought of the road rules and regulations, obey them, obey the law and all is well, let the fines go up to 250k, yet, we must assure we are not paying, as we can follow the rules, Long live Srilanka

    kukula Wednesday, 23 August 2017 09:09 AM

The youth for change what a comedy?

    Rasheed Wednesday, 23 August 2017 09:12 AM

Government should implement heavy fine for speaking over mobile phone while driving.

    Samitha Wednesday, 23 August 2017 10:13 AM

Bunch of uneducated Citizens in Sri Lanka.

    ashan Wednesday, 23 August 2017 10:24 AM
