Political party leaders in Parliament today decided to take up the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on April 4.
Parliament sources said the debate would be a marathon one as it would be held from 9.30 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. on April 4.
The joint opposition yesterday handed over the motion for which 55 members have signed including government members T. B. Ekanayake, Susantha Punchinilame, Nishantha Muttuhettigama and Kadar Mastan.
The number of oral questions to be raised on April 4 have been reduced to give more time for debate. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwadana)
