Hatton National Bank PLC (HNB) yesterday announced the appointment of Madu Ratnayake and Damien Fernando to its director board with effect from October 25, 2018.
Ratnayake was appointed as a Non-Executive Independent Director while Fernando was appointed as a Non-Executive Non-Independent Director.
Ratnayake is Group CIO and Centre Head for Virtusa Sri Lanka. He is responsible for Virtusa’s global digital strategy and Sri Lankan operations.
He is a chartered engineer and holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management and a First Class Honours Degree in Software Engineering from City University in London.
He has over 20 years’ experience in IT, digital transformation and project and service delivery. Meanwhile, Fernando, who is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of the United Kingdom, previously served HNB for almost five years as a Non-Executive Director, between 2012 and 2017.
He has also served on the boards of Distilleries Company PLC, Melstacorp PLC, Pelwatte Sugar PLC and Lanka
Hospitals PLC.
Currently he serves as a Director of Addison (Pvt.) Ltd and HealthCey
(Pvt.) Ltd.
The other directors on the HNB board are Chairman Dinesh Weerakkody, Managing Director Jonathan Alles, Non-Executive/Non-Independent Directors Rose Cooray and R.S. Captain and Non-Executive/Independent Directors L.R. Karunaratne, D.T.S.H. Mudalige, Amal Cabraal, P. Pelpola, D. Soosaipillai and A.N. De Silva.
