Part - 2

A competent astrologer can predict the disease that causes the death of a person going by the nature of the planet which aspects the 8th house and the part of the body to be affected would be that represented by the 8th House in the division under the Kalapurusha.

Determination of Dosha causing death
The Dosha (humour) represented by the planet in the 8th House causes the disease that leads to death.
If many planets occupy the 8th House, the body would be subject to several attacks resulting from the excess of various Humours indicated by such powerful planets leading to death.

Planets and factors causing death
If the Sun is in the 8th House death would result from fire. The factors involving in causing death when the other planets are posited in the 8th House are as follows:

  • Death results from water when the Moon is in the 8th House
  • Death results from weapons when Mars is in this House
  • Death results from fever when Mercury is in it
  • Death results from chronic diseases when Jupiter is in it
  • Death results from thieves when Venus is in this House and
  • Death results from starvation when Saturn in this House.

Location where the death takes place
If the 8th House is a movable sign the death would occur in a foreign place, if in a fixed sign, own place or if in a common sign while travelling.

8th House -related planets causing death
Bile or heat would lead to the development of the disease if the 8th House is aspected by the Sun, if by the Moon wind and bile, if by Mars bile and heat, if by Mercury bile, wind and phlegm, if by Jupiter phlegm, if by Venus phlegm and wind and if by Saturn, wind.

If no planet occupies or aspects the 8th House, the lord of the 8th House should be considered and the disease determined by the Humours indicated by that planet, Indian Jyotish Guru Dr. Raman says.

According to Ayurveda, the existence of three Doshas (three Humours) wind, bile and phlegm in a state of harmony ensures good health.

Diseases caused by Doshas
Dr. Raman says: “Each Dosha causes certain diseases and the exact nature of the disease from which a person dies should be ascertained with reference to the humour attributed to the planet, ruling, posited in or aspecting the 8th House of a horoscope.

How planets cause death
