The public rally ‘Beginning of a Struggle’ (Peraliyaka Arambuma) organised by the joint opposition was launched in Nugegoda this afternoon.
Heavy traffic was reported in the area as a large crowd gathered at the Ananda Samarakoon Open-air Theatre causing traffic congestion.
The rally is being held citing five key misdeeds of the government inclusive of corrupt deals of the government, the Organizing Committee said.

If a person who got 58 / 48 lakhs of votes can collect 5 lakhs of people for a meeting is not a big achievement or a surprise

Nugegoda consists of many workers, boarders etc. just for fun and entertainment they must have gathered. Some were brought on a field trip free of charge with food and drinks. Popularity could e seen during election time only.

Nugegoda like Maharagama is always crowded and holding meetings does not need crowd transport by hired busses for which MR is still indebted to the CTB.

"Beginning of a Struggle"? When exactly did this begin? There is absolutely no difference then from now. When you do things like this wasting "Someones" money one doesn't seem to comprehend the purpose of even doing these things. You are citing 5 misdeeds of this government, what about the countless misdeeds during the previous regime? You only shed crocodile tears when its your tail that is being pulled but never gave a hoot about your antics and the people you hurt during that time.

There are nearly 50 big buses parked all the way Stanley Tilakaratna Mawatha and Kotte road. Probably all other roads around Nugegoda town may have parked lot of buses. The people gathered at Nugegoda town is from different parts of the country. That is the truth about the crowd.

In a country where even a roadside monkey show attracts a curious crowd, it is not a big deal when it comes to a bunch of desperate JOkers.

You cannot judge the popularity of a party by the crowd. Our Sri Lankan curiosity is such crowds will gather even to watch a bomb explosion. 50% from Jo constituents and the balance other parties. via DM Android App
