Speaker Karu Jayasuriya today told Parliament that he nursed no aspirations of being the Prime Minister because there was already a Prime Minister in the country.
He said this in response to a question asked by an Opposition MP.
“I don’t want to become the Premier. There is one already. I have not made any request to be appointed the Premier," he said.

Whether you make a request or not you should not be considered for the PM's post. UNP don't be stupid by even having remote thoughts of considering the insincere Karu. Ranil should continue as PM and appoint Sajith as party leader or his successor if UNP is to win the grass root level voters.

Sinnce Ranils aspiration to make Ravi K as the UNP leader, Sajith is the only hope left in the party. He will appeal to the youth and tomorrow's Sri Lanka is in the hands of today's youth. MR, Gota, Sira, are aging leaders who will only look after themselves.

You are a good administrator, hardly a National Leader. One must understand its own capacity, then there would be a better contribution.
