SureshP Friday, 21 December 2018 04:28 PM
All the MR stooges have conveniently forgotten that petrol was over Rs. 161.00. Gas over 2,600.00.

In parliament MR gave a lecture to Mangala, how to be citizens friendly when collecting tax,
Unchikun Friday, 21 December 2018 11:20 AM
This reduction is baed on the "Fuel Formula", the correct way to calculate the selling price of fuel, as a matter of fact anything. This is not understood by people who think and proclaim the Zero/ Zero is equal to Zero.
Lara Friday, 21 December 2018 01:00 PM
A formula which nobody has seen which will make it convienient for the govt to increase prices whenever they want
Unchikun Friday, 21 December 2018 02:16 PM
One does not need to have a PhD in nuclear physics to calculate the price of a litter of petrol for a litter of crude. Just google and all the information is available. It is simple maths and common sense. Do it!
Unchikun Friday, 21 December 2018 11:23 AM
Ho Ho Ho! What about the reduction in bus fare and taxi fares. Do we have to wait for MR to become Prime Minister or President?
max Friday, 21 December 2018 11:29 AM
Thank you Mr. Mahinda Rajapakshe. If not you, this kind of a people-friendly approach from Ranil W govt would have been a dream.
Mandy Friday, 21 December 2018 02:36 PM
Crude prices fell from mid Sept so whatever formula, fuel prices had to come down. Nothing to do with MR - accidental.
Will Friday, 21 December 2018 07:11 PM
MR patiently explained to govt.why they are unpopular and their limitless tax is main reason for it,
Chari Friday, 21 December 2018 11:30 AM

Mr, Prime Minister please make the VAT rate a single digit one or increase the threshold since the local industries are suffering due to 15% of VAT. You find some other sources to cover the revenue loss.
Karu Friday, 21 December 2018 02:15 PM
Theatrically VAT is a tax paid by the consumer to the Govt. VAT levying enterprises are collecting agents on behalf of the Government. However in Sri Lanka it happens to be a tax on Gross profit of a service provider due to the absurdities in the implementation. I bet the commissioner General of IRD may not know how the S VAT which is more mysterious than the DL formula in cricket.
Senaa Friday, 21 December 2018 07:18 PM
Does the government is sure, what we paying as VAT, reaching treasury, earlier time ,one businessman's driver collected VAT, with connivances Dy,commissioner of tax dept.

Will Friday, 21 December 2018 07:22 PM
MR showed his maturity in politics, when he answered Mangala in his speech, more points to MR
R Fernando Friday, 21 December 2018 05:36 PM
Crude oi price has dipped more than 30% since mid October before which it was rising continuously for some time... So this is not due to MR but due to the lower price .
