The first semi-final will be between the defending champions St. Joseph’s and Kingswood scheduled for today while St. Peter’s will lock horns against Wesley in the second semi-final tomorrow.
The encounter between St. Joseph’s and Kingswood for sure is expected to go to the wire and the two teams will be meeting for the second time this season.
Earlier, the two teams clashed in the Inter-Schools League Tournament where the Josephians came out victorious by four points (26-22).
St. Joseph’s made it to the last four of the tournament while overcoming Maliyadeva College 45-17 in the quarter-final encounter.
Kingswood’s had the better of Trinity College 24-15 in their quarter-final fixture as they beat their home town rivals for the second time this season after having defeated the same opponents earlier in the league segment.
Meanwhile, St. Peter’s are hot favourties to pull off their game when they take on Wesley having defeated the same opponents 33-17 earlier in the League Championship.
In the quarter-finals, St. Peter’s defeated St. Anthony’s College while the Wesleyites scored an upset win over Isipathana College.
