The Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) yesterday announced the appointed of Nizam Packeer Ali as the new Head Coach of the Senior National Football Team during a press briefing held at the FFSL Headquarters in Colombo.

In addition, Sunil Senaweera was appointed as the National Team Manager for a two-year term.
The FFSL have made these appointments while targeting the SAFF Championship to be held in September in Bangladesh.
Packeer Ali is one of the most experienced football coaches in the country and started his professional coaching career as the Head Coach of Abahani Sports Club in Bangladesh in 1995.
Sri Lanka would play international friendly matches against Afghanistan, Malta, Singapore and few other countries in their preparations for the SAFF Championship.
In addition, the Sri Lankan Team would be in Japan for a three-week training program and for a couple of friendly matches in August. (SP)
