Cabinet of ministers to be restricted to 30

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has informed the UNF parliamentary group that the Cabinet will have to be limited to 30 ministers and that some will have to voluntarily give up aspirations of holding posts.

This was mentioned by MP Mano Ganesan on his twitter message. "Myself and Rishard Bathiudeen will stay out of the cabinet if Mr. Wickremesinghe so wished," he said. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriiwardana)

Hope it will continue and will not increase the cabinet later. Would have been great if RW can make a public statement of his plans of developing the country in the future and at least to accept his faults with CB fraud and how he would make sure that similar things will not happen in the future.

Hon Premier don't ask for volunteers. Act like a leader and appoint people to the suitable ministerial position and convince the rest. If not volunteer your PM post to someone as it says including PM and President limited to 30.

When I was a kid we had only 14 minister and there was no executive president. Sri Lanka was fine or as a matter of fact, better than today.

Let Mps with higher education qualifications (Not purely MP typenlawyers as envsagd by Sirama Bandaranayake) and ONLY those elected by the people be appointed.

Ministers who held positions over the age of 60 should step down and give way for the younger generation. change the Education minister, he finds it difficult to communicate in english.

Appoint only capable and corruption free members.By this you will win the hearts of the people and will win the next elections.Also limit all the perks given to the ministers.Take some drastic austerity measures to show the people that you are genuine in taking the country forward with a healthy economy which will lighten the burden of the people
