Passengers using the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) were requested to be present at the airport five hours prior to the departure time, Deputy Transport Minister Ashoka Abeysinghe said.
The main runway at the BIA will be closed for renovation daily for three months from today from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.

SESMA once recomended to build a second runway for BIA without building the MRIA. If MR listed this could have been averted
