An airman and two individuals, who were being rescued, were injured when they fell from a Mi17 helicopter in Neluwa, Galle this morning.
Airforce spokesperson Wing Commander Gihan Seneviratne said the injured were admitted to the Karapitiya hospital.
Seneviratne also said a SLAF Bell 212 and Mi17 helicopters were on standby by in Koggala and Ratmalan to assist rescue operations and a Bell 412 helicopter was also enroute to Koggala.

SLAF needs more helicopters for these rescue efforts.

They need more technique and rehearsal . They expect these kind of incident to happen once in 5 years. But need to be prepared at any moment . Country like Australia alway prepare for any incident whether its happens or notWe got good AirForce - Need to train for unexpected incidents and get more expertise from country like Australia
