44 new Ministry Secretaries appointed

Forty four new Ministry Secretaries were appointed today at a ceremony at the Presidential Secretariat in the presence of Presidential Secretary P.B. Abeykoon.

Secretary to the Prime Minister,Saman Ekanayake and Cabinet Secretary Sumith Abeysinghe were also present at the occasion.

The new Ministry Secretaries are as follows

    I do hope secretaries for Power,Telecom,Health, Agriculture, Higher education, and similar ministries are senior Engineers,Medical Doctors, Scientists, Educationist - Not square pegs in round holes.

    By appointing certain lackies of former government in a crucial ministry such as defence seem new government too suffering from Pakinson and all shoutings were nothing but election gimmicks. The cases eventually will die down. Feeling sorry for people wanted justice.

    @justicia. Not always. The Secretary should be a person who can take excellent decisions by leading such professionals. The Secretary post of a Ministry is much more similar to the position of CEO at Private Sector Company. For an example, the CEO of an Airline company is not essential to be a PILOT.
