A 15-hour water cut would be imposed in several areas in Colombo and Kaduwela tomorrow (March 29) from 9.00 am to 12 midnight, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board said.
The water supply will be interrupted in Colombo, Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia, Kotte and Kaduwela Municipal Councils due to a power interruption at the Ambatale Water Treatment Plant.
Accordingly, the water supply in Maharagama, Boralesgamuwa and Kolonnawa Urban Councils, Kotikawaththa Mulleriyawa Pradeshiya Sabha areas and Rathmalana would also be suspended.

This is the third long water cut to Battaramulla town during the past 10 days. After 15 hours without water it takes another 15 hours to fill the pipe line and restore normalcy. This time it is mid week day, severe inconvenience to school children and the office workers hampering domestic front. NWSDB is working with out-dated practices.Generators should be there to operate during Power interruptions at Ambathale. Why keep millions of consumers without water for 30 hours. This is the result of having unqualified people in top positions in SOEs.
