MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage, who was remanded yesterday, was released on bail by the Fort Magistrate’s Court today.
The MP was released on bail yesterday but was remanded later on as he failed to provide evidence to prove that his passport is with the Colombo High Court.
He was released today after he submitted evidence to prove that the passport is with the High Court.
MP Aluthgamage was arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) yesterday on charges of misappropriating government funds amounting to Rs.39 million in 2014 to buy Carrom and Checker-boards. (Yoshitha Perera)

Thomas, your question is right, and it's something we all keep asking. Unfortunately, though, nothing will change through our comments on these pages. Maybe a strong media channel should summon the Justice Minister for an interview and ask him these questions. Hopefully then we will get the answers and the entire world could read or hear what he has to say. Finally, his future job is in our hands.

If you want to continue in politics,you have to talk logically and make every word you express meaningful.Mere saying that you attended a good school only will not suffice,you should go beyond that and avoid talking like a joker.
