Minister Sagala Ratnayaka in a special meeting today instructed all hoteliers in Mirissa to strictly adhere to the registration process of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
The meeting was held in Mirissa to ensure the safety of the tourists in the area concerning the recent assault on a group of Dutch tourists who were holidaying there.
During the meeting, minister instructed the hotel owners to operate within the Excise Department regulations and regulations which prevent sound pollution. (Thilanka Kanakarathna)

Don't worry. The Outhorities are only half awakened. When the next incident happens he will ask the rest of the hoteliers to register. So far it is effective in Marissa only. And the guy who operated the said joint where this sad incident happened will register and will be back in business.

Why only Mirrissa? Wake up ! Have national policy of standards, registration, management of all tourist hotspots in the country. have a competent tourist board authority in each are to co- ordinate all matters with local tourist board approved establishments as well as with local authorities and police.
