The Students’ Union of the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) in Malabe today handed over a letter to Minister of Health Rajitha Senaratne requesting him to find solutions to the issues they faced in seeking provisional registration to practice as doctors.
Speaking to the media, outside the Ministry of Health, the Convener of the SAITM Students’ Union Prageetha Wimalachandra said they expected a positive response from the Minister.
He said they would strengthen their programmes including protest marches to create awareness among the public regarding their side of the issues related to SAITM.

The injustice done to SAITM is horrible. GMOA and SLMC obstructed it, defamed it, still spreading lies about it, and still cant believe they are wrong even after SAITM MBBS standard was achieved. SAITM still needs the internship like all other MBBS. Justice will prevail
