Italian Culinary Fest with Chef Jacopo, Latitude - Taj Samudra

Italian Cuisine is a mosaic of regional customs with recipes often being passed through the generations. Italian Chef Jacopo joins  the Taj Samudra to present this highly famed and deeply loved cuisine in all it's finest flavour.



Chef Jacopo's cooking roots stem from his Italian mother. A student of the Institute of Food Science in Milan, Chef Jacopo was inspired by the Kitchen and trained at the finest Mediterranean Restaurants. He finally fulfilled one of his greatest passions by opening his very own restaurant in Milan "RISTORANTE TRATTORIA".

Like all renowned Chef's, Jacopo believes there is nothing better than traditional home style cooking. Immersing himself in yet another delicious recipe, he mutters to no one in particular "It's all about original ingredients. Never cut critical ingredients in a recipe". He believes cuisine culture is passion for rare ingredients, authentic tools for preparation, and care in selection of the seasonal vegetables and meats.

They say Italian's are food critics or cuisine maniacs …that particular potato, that kind of pasta, that regional cheese or olive oil … Yes is true, the very best of Italian food lies in deep attention to detail, yielded together by the skillful chef.

Join Chef Jacopo at Latitude and delight in Insalata Di Pollo a popular Italian chicken salad or Insalata Con Olive E Feta - olive and feta salad. The main course would include such items as the mushy, melt in the mouth flavours of Risotto Funghi E Broccoli - Italian style creamy rice with broccoli and mushroom or authentic Alla Bolognese - pasta with bolognaise sauce. For Sri Lankan's, no italian cuisine seems closer to our fond liking than pizza - do try the Pizza 4 Stagioni - four season  pizza or Pizza Al Tonno - tuna pizza amongst many more.
