Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will host the Lanka Premier League (LPL) this year in the month of September. This was revealed yesterday by the new President of SLC Shammi Silva.
“We are hosting the LPL this year. Originally it was to be hosted last year but we could not host it. We are planning to host this tournament now.”
“We are hoping to play with six teams this year and certainly there will be foreign players participating.”“there will be few Indian players as well. The BCCI had agreed to send their second-string players last year. Again the Indian Cricket Board will be requested to send their players,” the President added. Earlier, former Sri Lanka cricketer Russell Arnold was named as the Director of the LPL.
“We have not yet approached him but if he is available, we will certainly request him to take up this assignment.” (Bipin Dani)

Bookyman very eager to host it. Remember it was a flop on first attempt. This is not India or Bangladesh to revere cricket as a religion. We are going to witness empty stands again. but behind the scenes fixings will beat the level of IPL and BPL since the main idea was exactly the same.
