State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake said today a women politician was also among the politicians using cocaine.
He told Daily Mirror that this woman politician was not a sitting member of Parliament. He said he had obtained this information from the Narcotics Bureau and several other responsible institutions.
“The issue will be resolved if all MPs go and get themselves checked. Only myself and Deputy Minister Buddhika Pathirana had done blood tests and revealed it to the public,” the state minister said.
When asked whether the CID have given him a date to make a statement, he said he was awaiting a date to do so.
The state minister said there were MPs from the Hill County, the Colombo District, Sabaragamuwa and the Gampaha District who were into drugs. (Yohan Perera)

Consuming drugs is their way of seeking self emancipation. Give them a harmless alternative, an intellectual but practical way of seeking emancipation to veer them away from this self destructive addiction.

Why do people think drug users can't be parliamentarians? It shouldn't be a problem as long as they are not under it when attending parliamentary sessions and do the job that is assigned to them

Oh! come on. You keep changing your 'bag of worms' with each new day.You were told point blank by Nalin Bandara to reveal your findings and give names or to dry up instead of wasting Government time in Parliament while there was more important things to do. So, will you please take a cue and spill the beans or else there will be not so good comments thrown at you,

Provide the name in writing to the speaker(not done so far) or just shut up. Just a publicity stunt for the uneducated gallery with the polls around the corner. Ranjan, "put-up or shut up".
