U-19 Cricket Tourney Vidyaloka, Nalanda advance to quarters

Vidyaloka MV, Galle and Nalanda Boys’ School, Minuwangoda came out victorious in their respective pre quarter-finals of the Under-19 Division Three Inter-Schools Cricket Tournament which concluded yesterday. 

Vidyaloka MV outclassed Ananda Maithriya Central, Balangoda by an innings and 24 runs at Rathgama while Nalanda Boys’ School recorded a convincing nine-wicket win over St. Mary’s College, Matugama at Matugama.


At Rathgama (Vidyaloka MV won by innings and 24 runs)
Ananda Maithriya Central: 62 and 116 (Lithija Kalhara 37, Ashen Moses 30, Umanga Imanjana 4/49, Nadeera Ishan 3/15, Senith Praveen 2/17)
Vidyaloka MV (156/3 overnight): 202/6 declared (Senith Praveen 76, Sachindu Saumya 34, Ramuditha Disal 26, Lakshan Sandeepa 33 n.o, Tharusha Fernando 2/36).
At Matugama (Nalanda Boys’ School won by nine wickets)
St. Mary’s: 132 and 162 (Heshan Tharinda 46, Himesha Madubasha 40, Randev Seneviratne 34, Nadun Kalhara 5/49, Mahindu Malith 3/32, Kavishka Lakshan 2/26)
Nalanda Boys’ School: 198/8 and 75/1 (Mahindu Malith 42 n.o).
