By Susil Premalal
The Sri Lanka Football Referees Association (SLFRA) has come forward to provide dry ration food relief packs to Referees, players and their families in the Western Province and other parts of the country.
“We started this initiative in a small way, but it has reached considerable proportions as many friends and well wishers came forward and provided us with some packages.”
The referees and football players are one family and we want to help each other during this crisis situation,” said Jaswar Umar, General Secretary of the Association.
Dry ration packs were distributed by SLFRA President A. G. C. Deshapriya and Secretary Umar with the participation of many senior referees.
The association said, it is planning to continue this initiative to support more footballers who are suffering during this pandemic with the help of well wishers.
