Isuru steers Bens to victory

A fine six-wicket haul by Isuru Lakshan helped St. Benedict’s College record a comfortable 47-run win over St. Anthony’s College, Wattala in their Under-17 Inter-Schools Cricket Tournament second-round match played at Kotahena yesterday.

Meanwhile, Trinity College secured a close 10-run win against St. Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa in another match played at Godigamuwa.


At Kotahena (St. Benedict’s won by 47 runs)
St. Benedict’s: 161 in 48 overs (Thenuka Nandalal 42, Hasindu Kaviratne 29, Banula Perera 23 n.o, Kavindu Gamage 3/24, Prasad Maduranga 2/22, Pathum Vihanga 2/22, Sahan Kavishka 2/26)

At Godigamuwa (Trinity won by 10 runs)
