Kandy Sports Club pulled off a superb 45 points (six tries, six conversions and one penalty) to 15 points (two tries, one conversion and one penalty) win over CH and FC in their Inter-Club ‘A’ Division League Rugby Tournament encounter played at the Nittawela Stadium in Kandy yesterday.
At half time the winners led 17-0.
Both teams played a scrappy game full of errors in the early half but the home team settled well and scored two converted tries plus a penalty before the short whistle.
Buddhima Pyaratne and Tharindu Chanaka scored a try each while Tharinda Ratwatte put over a penalty and conversed both tries.
After the breather CH and FC hit back through two tries through Nishon Perera and Prasad Madushanka.
Samuel Maduwantha converted one try and also put over a penalty.
Kandy SC then scored three unanswered tries through Tharindu Chanaka, Shashika Jayawardena and Buwanaka Udangamuwa.
Ratwatte who had a grand game converted all three tries.
