Skipper Kamil Mishara and Ravindu Rashantha struck half centuries to steer Sri Lanka Under-19 to a comfortable five-wicket win against the visiting Pakistan Under-19 in the fifth and final Youth ODI played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Hambantota yesterday.
However, this was only a consolation win for the home side as the Pakistan Under-19 had already clinched the five-match series having secured wins in the second, third and fourth ODI’s played earlier.
Rashantha’s knock of 85 came off just 67 balls which included 13 boundaries while Skipper Mishara’s 87 took him 118 balls that comprised five boundaries.
The pair also put on a valuable 132-run stand for the third-wicket after they had lost their openers with the score on 43 in the ninth over.
Avishka Tharindu joined Mishara and the pair added 69 for the fifth-wicket which paved the way for Sri Lanka Under-19’s victory.
Earlier, Pakistan Under-19 invited to take first lease of the wicket, put up a challenging score of 264 runs helped by half centuries from Mohammad Basit Ali, Haris Khan and Qasim Akram.
