An unbeaten half century by Janidu Jayawardena and a four-wicket haul by Thenuka Nandalal paved the way for Colombo North Zone-2 to record a convincing 87-run win over Gampaha Zone-2 in their Western Province Under-19 Cricket Tournament encounter played at Bandaragama yesterday.
At Bandaragama (Colombo North Zone-2 won by 87 runs)
Colombo North Zone-2: 247 in 49.5 overs (Kanishka Ranthilakage 37, Hasindu Kaviratne 29, Janidu Jayawardena 73 n.o, Shan Kavishka 3/51, Samith Harshitha)
Gampaha Zone-2: 160 in 40.1 overs (Amantha Perera 61, Shiran Perera 29, Thenuka Nandalal 4/33, Malinda Perera 2/17).
At Maggona (Colombo South Zone-2 won by six wickets)
Kalutara Zone-2: 100 in 40.2 overs (Ashan Dilshan 21, Charuka Chandeera 21, Janishka Perera 3/17, Sandun Sathsara 2/14, Kalana Sandeepa 2/24)
