Akalanka Peiris
Sri Lankan swimmer Akalanka Peiris won a Silver Medal on the second day of the NEO GARDEN 15th Singapore National Swimming Championships which continued in Singapore yesterday.
Peiris was placed second in the Men’s 50 metres backstroke event as he returned a time of 26:68 seconds.
The Gold Medal in this event was won by Tern Tian Chan from Malaysia who finished the event with a time of 26:30s.
This was also the second medal for Peiris at this meet following his success in the Men’s 100m backstroke event on the previous day. The championship will be continued today. (SP)
