Marina Square-Uptown Colombo, has extended their support to sponsor a ballet adaptation of Disney’s classic ‘Aladdin’, brought to life by the Deanna School of Dancing. It is produced and choreographed by Natalie and Natasha Jayasuriya. This ballet adaptation of the world-famous ‘Aladdin’ will be staged from 31st May to 3rd June, at the Bishop’s College Auditorium at 4pm. With the participation of over 600 students ranging from the ages of 3 to 30, it is sure to be an entertaining evening for everyone.
The Plot: Aladdin is a poor yet care-free street urchin in an Arabian city. One day he meets Princess Jasmine, the daughter of the Sultan of the land, and falls madly in love. However, the evil Jafar, the Sultan's sorcerer, imprisons Aladdin and manipulates him into working for him. Unknown to Aladdin, he is the only one who can enter and unlock the treasures of a secret cave, including a magical lamp. Aladdin finds the lamp and releases the genie trapped within. The genie offers to grant him three wishes. Meanwhile, Jafar wants the lamp, and the Princess has to be married within three days. Many adventures follow...
Welcoming the sponsorship from Marina Square, the Principal of the Deanna School of Dancing, Natasha Jayasuriya, expressed her appreciation to Marina Square for the invaluable support extended to the school and the show. This is the School’s biggest show to date with 600 performers taking part in it.

The Deanna Dance School (est. 1980) is located in the heart of Colombo. “The school’s main aim is to produce professional dancers who are as serious as they are passionate about what they do.
