The funds raised through customer contributions from Star Points will be utilised for the well-being and development of the children who have lost their parents and are being cared by SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka. Whatever the circumstances are, these children are given a happy childhood and an opportunity to reach their full potential with love, respect and security in a family environment.SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka is a non-profit, approved charitable organisation which was registered in Sri Lanka in the year of 1981 under an agreement with the Social Services Ministry.
SOS Children’s Villages operates i n more t han 130 countries to help children and support families where children are at risk and require a l oving home and environment to grow up. Uniquely, SOS Children’s Villages provide practical support in the long term, so that each child can develop resilient relationships and face life’s challenges in the future.
In turn, this strengthens communities and society as a whole. The organisation also speaks on behalf of children, to governments and similar organisations, striving to end violations of children’s rights and improve living conditions worldwide. To do everything we do, “We need the support of partners and donors to provide vulnerable children a loving home and a second chance j ust t o be a child,” said SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka National Director Ananda Karunarathne.
