The exclusive women’s savings account, Anagi from Commercial Bank, conducted a special SMS promotion based on the theme ‘The woman who inspired me the most’ in collaboration with Wijeya Newspapers Ltd to commemorate International Women’s Day on the 8th of March 2014.
The SMS promotion, conducted for a period of one week saw a large amount of creative text messages being sent to honour women in all walks of life, out of which 25 winners were selected with 3 main winners, all of whom were given attractive gift packs worth Rs. 100,000. The bank also opened Anagi Women’s Savings Accounts for all the winners. This SMS promo campaign of Commercial Bank explored a very good opportunity for Sri Lankans to express their gratitude through a creative short message for the women, who have helped them to scale the ladder of success. This campaign has created a lot of talkability among the people of Sri Lanka due to the fact that Commercial Bank has identified the importance of empowering and recognising women in the country.
A unique savings account with exclusive benefits for women, Anagi was launched in 2012 by Commercial Bank of Ceylon in recognition of the growing significance of Sri Lankan women, who are increasingly shouldering financial responsibilities, in addition to the multiple roles they play. Today ‘Anagi’ has become a popular choice of women’s account in Sri Lanka, which has identified and catering to a variety of needs of local women who work for the wellbeing of their individual families as well as for the development of the economy.
