CIMA ’s President, Gulzari Babber who is on an official tour to all CIMA markets in the region makes his visit to Sri Lanka this week.He has served as an elected member of the CIMA Council from 1997 to 2010 representing the North London Thames Area (Region 1). He has been a member of various committees and since 2001 also chaired a number of the Policy Committees: the Members’ Services Committee, the Marketing Committee, the Professional Standards Committee and the Technical Committee before being elected CIMA Vice President in June 2010.
Babber has also been a member of the Institute’s Executive Committee since 2001.
He is actively involved in voluntary and religious organisations. He has served as CivilianChair of Harrow Air Training Corp 1454 Squadron and the Treasurer of Hindu Forum Britain. He is currently General Secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Temple in Southall and Joint Chairman of the Metropolitan Police Hindu Consultation Forum. He is also the current Chairman of Ealing Community and Police Consultative Group.
