The chain will operate in Sri Lanka under Softlogic’s fully-owned subsidiary, Softlogic Restaurants (Pvt.) Ltd.
“Softlogic Restaurants plans to open three restaurants in the coming months. Burger King is a strong competitor in the food franchise business with a unique taste and value proposition and will be a solid contributor to the group’s future growth,” the company stated.
BK AsiaPac is a subsidiary of Burger King Worldwide Inc. and the master franchisor for the Burger King brand in the Asia Pacific region. BK has also agreed to provide services and operational support to Burger King Restaurants operating within Sri Lanka.
It will be very interesting to see how the world’s second largest fast food hamburger chain will take on McDonald’s in Sri Lanka. (CF)
